Government Subsidies for Commercial LED Lighting Upgrade

The Energy Saving Scheme is an initiate by the New South Wales government as a part of the Energy Security Safeguard to encourage organizations to invest in energy saving projects by providing financial incentives. 

These energy saving projects include installing, improving or replacing energy saving equipment such as LED lighting. 

In April 2020, the ESS has extended to 2050 with the energy savings target increasing from 8.5% to 13% by 2030 to ensure households and businesses can continue to save money on their bills by upgrading the energy-efficient technology. 

When you invest in an LED lighting upgrade, we will calculate the reduction in energy consumption during our assessment. For each notional megawatt hour of energy saved, Pro Masters Electrical will create one Energy Savings Certificate (ESC). From there liable third parties, such as energy retailers, will then purchase the ESCs. Then the value of the ESCs is returned to you in the form of a subsidy towards the total LED lighting upgrade product and installation.
